This one had everything - old decking that needed to go, soffits that weren't doing their job, and gutters that were past their prime. A full roof replacement like this is never just about slapping new shingles on top. If the foundation underneath is compromised, the new roof won't perform the way it should. That's exactly why we stripped it all the way down.
Once the old material was off, we installed new 5/8" CDX plywood decking across the entire roof. That's the layer everything else depends on. It gives the shingles a solid, flat surface to fasten to - and it eliminates the soft spots and rot that cause premature failure down the road. You can see the crew laying those sheets clean and tight, ridge to eave.
From there, we put down underlayment, set the metal drip edge, and started laying the new architectural shingles in a charcoal finish. The lines came out straight, the courses are consistent, and the detail work around the skylights and chimney is clean. That stuff matters. Sloppy flashing is one of the biggest sources of leaks we see on roofs that were done by someone else.
We also handled the full exterior trim package - black center-vented soffits, aluminum fascia covers, and custom 5" seamless gutters to pull it all together. The vented soffits keep air moving through the attic, which helps regulate temperature and moisture year-round. The seamless gutters mean no seams to leak and no joints to pull apart over time. Every piece ties into the next.
The finished product is a home that looks sharp from the street and is built to hold up through whatever Bergen County weather throws at it. This is the kind of scope we handle regularly throughout Paramus and the surrounding area - full replacements done right, from the decking up.
